Moderate Hike - A private boat is required to get to the island.  Its approximately 25 miles away from L'anse Michigan.

Time of day - This location is good for anytime of the day, however, note that the wind conditions on Lake Superior could impact your schedule.  Its the biggest freshwater lake and it creates its own weather.
