Guitar size: Should I get a smaller guitar for my student? Most youth can play a full size guitar. I would recommend starting on a full size. They will grow into it.
Tuners: Many guitars have a tuner built into them. This is nice! Optionally, the clamp on tuner is also good.
Guitar Strap: To play standing up, you will need a strap
Case: For carrying the guitar, you want to have a case. Having a case strong enough to step on .... means you can accidentally step on it and the guitar is safe. I've stepped on a few guitars laying on the floor. It seems to happen to everyone.
Picks: I prefer medium thickness, but its definitely a personal preference
Extra Strings: Strings are usually about $10 to $15. Its good to have an extra set in your guitar case.
